Here We Go!

So it's finally here.  I've been so anxious and nervous for months, not just because I was dying to have my little one, but also because we are moving.  This week we pack up, clean up, and begin the super fun process of somehow having a baby and moving out of the continental U.S.

Honestly, now that V is here and things are started, I am much better.  I always have a tricky recovery after delivering my babies.  I'm super tired and I can't seem to even just sit down without being in serious pain for at least three weeks.  The Lord was very good to me at this time though.  I was hurting so much that I was crying just laying in bed and all I could think about was how in just a little bit, I was going to be moving out of our home and into a hotel, cleaning my house, and then flying to Spokane, WA.  I've been praying for help and I've been getting little help here and there, but my pain level wasn't moving a bit.  Then within a week I went from seriously hating being a new mom, to being ready to move my house all by myself!  It was amazing and I'm super grateful.  At this point, it's been almost a month since my little boy was born so I'm feeling pretty good.  Having things started is giving me that "I'm finally on to the big stuff" feeling.

Anyway, the packers showed up today (11th) and they seem to be good guys.  They smile and are kind to my kids.  The ward has been great with the kids.  Several members have stepped up to babysit the big kids while V hangs at home with me.  Though I'm not a clingy mom, one month old, is a little too little for me to leave him with someone for more than an hour even though he is on the bottle and could go with someone else.  Besides, I just spent 10 months making him, I'm not giving him to anyone just yet!

So here are some cute pix of the kids after our first day of packing.  (For those of you unaware how PCSing works: day 1-3 is used to just pack stuff up, and then day 3-4 is for putting it on the trucks.)  After the packers left we ate out (the first of many times, I'm sure) and then put the kids to bed, sort of.  No beds, but we did prepare for this with cute sleeping bags and pac n' plays.  Eve and Joe who share a room got to watch a movie on our portable DVD player.  (You know we got the player before we moved to Sumter and it's been wonderful.  We use it every time we fly and when we PCS.  It's been a great buy and something that will definitely be replaced when it needs it.)

I know I usually don't do this, but this post is going to be at least three days.  So today on the 12th was just more packing after dropping off the kids again.  During the afternoon, and in between babysitters, I took the kids to the base library for the kick-off of their summer reading program.  I knew we wouldn't be around for all of the other activities, but the kids got to eat lunch, play in a bounce house (always a favorite), and get some cool stuff like t-shirts and pencils.  They had a lot of fun and were really looking forward to it.  Chris surprised us by coming in at the end.

heart and a crown - perfect for a little princess!

We've moved into the TLF (temporary lodging) on base today.  It's actually really nice.  It's got a full kitchen and two bathrooms with three bedrooms and lots of closets.  The baby of course is sleeping with us.  It is now housing all of our left overs and frozen goods.  Thank goodness for a full fridge.  We still get to eat like normal!  That part I love.  The place is also right next to the laundry facilities and a playground.  Chris did good.  I'm just already sad that we can't stay here the whole time, but I'll enjoy while I can.

Today was the last day of packing (13th), thank goodness.  Now we're to the putting it all in the crates.  This has been a long process already and we've got the rest of the week to finish this and next week to fix it/clean it.  On a cuter note, V got a bath tonight.  I'm still remembering how all this goes.  You'd think where my kids are so close in age it would be easy, but I get so caught up in the growing of each kid, I kind of forget.  So I took another picture of my little cutie.
so small!

That's it for this post!  Stay tuned.  We move to our hotel tomorrow and they finish our home this week!  Can't believe we're finally at the moving stage.  Trying hard to be happy about the whole thing!
