The night before!

Okay, so all day I was hoping to get here and catch us up with all that's been going on. Then, I ran into three very active children, nap time (which I never skip) and dinner time which we did out tonight so I didn't have to cook or do dishes.

Anyway, as of my ob this morning, I finally get to have my baby! She scheduled me for 8am tomorrow morning! I am so excited! Mostly just to not be pregnant anymore. I'm sure there are some women who love it, but after three full years of being pregnant/nursing, I can't wait for a break!

So here I sit, madly picking up (someone will be at our house watching the kids), doing laundry (so the kids have something to wear besides jammies while I'm gone), taking care of the bills (because seriously, who else is gonna do that one), organizing the taxes (we have an appt with the military tax people next week), and trying very hard not to freak out that in less than eight hours from now, I'll be more uncomfortable than I already am and on my way to meeting our newest addition.

It feels a little surreal, but wonderful too. Last week, my ob had promised that we would have a baby but pulled back when she discovered I wasn't as far along as she had anticipated. Needless to say, I was very upset and quite emotionally strung out. To wait 10 months and then be told that "oops, I was wrong - no way" is a really hard thing to swallow. So I took a few days, prayed a lot for patience and endurance, and finally got to this appt with a good attitude. It was the "whatever happens" attitude since everything was up in the air again.

I literally almost jumped off the table when she said I was close enough to induce. She asked about the next morning and it was all I could do not to ask if we could do it that afternoon! Thankfully, I had a little time tonight to take care of some things that would've fallen by the wayside once the baby came home. I like having my life organized a little bit at least. There's so much I can't control anyway that to have taken care of what I can, makes me less stressed about what I can't!!

So - I'm doing laundry and watching my honey play his video game. No need to pack - did that weeks ago!

Wish us luck! The next time I blog, I'll have a new little one in my home and some great pix to add besides the cute ones already on the way from the holidays!

Loves and thanks for all the support!!!

Hello Again!!!

I know so what's the deal?

I blog like there's no tomorrow and then you never hear from us again. That's what happens when life gets in the way of your best efforts. Ok, maybe not best efforts, but if intentions counted I would be doing great.

I had intended to tell you about when Chris came home, but we only had two days to get ready to leave so that one fell by the wayside. Then I had intended to tell you all about Christmas in Spokane, WA, but there was so much to do and I was still quite sick. Then, of course, I had intended to write sometime in the last month and a half, but unpacking, ob appts, Chris' full-time shedule and my serious lack of energy basically removed any and all intentions of anything but sleeping when I got a spare minute.

So, yes we're alive.
Yes, the kids are still super cute and loved.
No, there is STILL no fourth Fosburg baby despite my best efforts.
Yes, Chris loves his job and went TDY (training) for a bit in N.Carolina and will be deploying here shortly to the mid east for some follow up stuff in March.
Yes, I'm dying to be the mother of a newborn again instead of a pregnant mom of three.
No, my Christmas tree is not down yet, despite my nagging and complaining.
And finally, yes, we're all hanging in there like us Fosburgs do.

I will be writing more about what you missed and what's currently happening, but that will have to wait until nap time or bedtime when the kids aren't wanting/needing my attention and Chris is home. Then I have some great pix and some great little anecdotes to share, etc. That's what moms do on here right?

So thanks for being patient. Loves all around. Talk to you soon!

Been a bit

Okay, so after having so many posts the previous two months, I know you're all wondering what happened to us!

Well, being sick seriously slowed down the projects, outings, activities, and basically anything else that we were up and doing. We haven't had much to post about unless you want to know what medicines we've been taking or thousands of cartoons we've been watching. It's been pretty boring.

Until this last weekend. With Chris coming home this last Sunday (yes, he's home - post to come), I was getting really anxious about being healthy. Well on Wednesday we celebrated Chris' 32nd birthday ourselves by singing him the happy birthday song. That was it. I sent him a nice email and we texted, but it wasn't really a big deal for our family. I gave him his present before he left because it was a book I thought he might enjoy while being deployed.

Lizzy's 1st birthday was a little bigger deal, but again, we're all still a bit sick and couldn't really do a lot. So we had her well-child check up and guess what? She's the first Fosburg baby to reach the goal of tripling her birth weight by her first birthday! Yes, that means she weighs 18lbs! I'm so proud of her. Dr. said she looked great and developmentally was doing wonderful. Then he took a quick look at the other kids since we'd all been sick for so long and gave them a clean bill of health! So my kids are back to rights again. We still have some sneezes and a little coughing in the morning, but overall they're good to go!

So, for Lizzy's birthday and to celebrate the fact that we were finally able to leave the house, we went to McD's for dinner and playtime. The kids loved it. Being around other kids was so nice for them. Lizzy ate real well and the kids behaved so well I looked like super mom! What a nice change. When we got home we had some ice cream and sang to Liz. She loved the treat. Then it was off to bed.

We are looking to do some major celebrating more appropriately when we get to Spokane. A cake and everything so that will be a later post.

The last day before Chris came home was all about preparation. We made a sign and cleaned real well. When the kids went to bed I worked hard to finish anything unfinished, as far as projects went, and then to get to bed at a decent hour so I could wake up without wishing I hadn't.

Sunday finally came! It was so exciting. We woke up, ate breakfast, and then went to get daddy at the airport. Chris was texting the whole way until I told him to stop so I could drive! Turkey! He was having a conversation and wanted to talk while I was on the freeway. I do not do that! Texting and driving are a horrible mix. I have a hard enough time staying on the road and looking at my map for directions.

We eventually got there a bit later than I wanted. Instead of standing in the airport, we sat on the floor of the van with our cute poster that even Lizzy helped color. Dad popped out and then it was all downhill from there.

It's been two days now, Chris has been to the base twice, borrowed my car both days (messed me up badly!) and stayed up until 3am last night on his PS3 and laptop. See, who says you need a few days to adjust? He needed his electronics and adjustment happened! We as a family are getting there.
We only have another two days before we're on our way to Spokane so adjustment has been interesting. Chris is tired and a bit out of practice, I'm relieved to have another adult around, and Joe can't get enough testosterone. Poor kid has been with girls for the last two months and only girls for the last 3 wks!!!

Well that's us up to the minute! We'll have more fun stuff to post about when we get to Spokane. Keep checking in and see what we're up to! Loves!
