Then the day really begins. Sometimes things go well and I get lots done by nap-time at 10 am. More often than not we've been through several time-outs, some temper tantrums, and a stern talking-to. (Not all for the same kid of course.)
And then sometimes we have some silly moments interspersed with some not so fun moments. Though I'm pretty sure at this point we have more of one than the other, some days are just ALL silly. I like those days the best. So here are some silly times and some really fun day moments.
This is our time out spot. At night, the wigglies are sometimes too difficult to overcome and won't stay in Joe's pocket where he puts them. So he ends up in the time-out, but he's so tired. This night he apparently got chilly and covered himself in pull-ups. He also used one as a pillow.
This is a McD's visit. Ally is still too little to run around in the play place so daddy often lets her play on his phone. She loves it. We've downloaded quite a few kid-friendly apps to entertain them when we're at doctor offices, waiting rooms, or at McD's.
Joseph was more excited to play with daddy at McD's than to play in the play place. He was so cute and just so you know - dolls make fantastic bad guys!
Just about two Saturdays ago we invited our friends the Kirby's over for a BBQ/game afternoon. We had so much fun. Tina had never played this game and Aaron had only played it in German. Chris and I had such a great time being with our friends and doing something that we really love. We are such gamers, both board and video.
The kids all played outside. The pool was just right once the slide was set up. The weather turned out nice and warm, though not too sunny. We originally were going to Huntington beach like we did last summer, but it just wasn't quite warm enough in April. It is on some days, but they are so unpredictable as to make planning pretty unlikely.
This is one of my favorite pictures of all time! The kids were sitting after church watching one of our "Liken the Scriptures" videos while I made lunch. Got lucky and caught this one when they were not looking at me. Isn't it so cute?
I called this picture, 'snipers all set', since if you look closely, you can see that while he's watching a cartoon he's also setting up and destroying his guys and 'the enemy'. Daddy is always so proud to see how well he caught on to the army guys.
As long as I have a camera, I will be able to remember that more often the number of silly moments are greater than the number of not so silly moments. Thank goodness!
