Ballet Bonanza

I am so excited to post this!  Evie is our resident ballerina - if you didn't know yet.  She had another amazing recital except this one was more professional.  It was to raise money for the local hospital here so we did have to pay to see her.
the program from the showcase-see her name?

Her section of the performance was called "Puttin' Down the Ducky."  It was super cute to see Eve and her friends dressed like little ducks and tapping all over the stage.  Her teacher, Miss Holly, specifically asked if Evie would be okay on stage.  I was a bit concerned that she might have noticed a shy factor that I would need to help Evie with, but that was not the concern.  Apparently, Evie takes ballet very seriously and was the student Miss Holly was counting on to help the others of her class perform the program correctly.

She did a great job and we were ALL so proud of her!  The second that Eve hit the stage all the kids were oohhing and clapping and being super excited for her.  I was so happy for both Evie and how great my family is on the support.

I later found out that Eve does take ballet very seriously.  I watched her in a parent's day and found that she didn't really join in on the funny dancey whatever you want part.  I asked why-she said the other girls are too wobbly (not focused) and she didn't want to be like them.  I was quite surprised.  As you've seen from the other videos on the blog, she's a very silly girl who loves to dance in any which way.  I mentioned this to Chris.  He sat down and had a little chat with Evie about times to be serious - like when learning a program, and times to be silly - like the last dance of each class when Miss Holly puts on crazy music.  He helped her understand that learning ballet is wonderful, but that it's okay to make up your own stuff too.  I was so proud of both my loves at the end of that talk.

I told Aunt Katie Evie loved her skirt!!!

The next class, Evie did a great job being a bit silly and serious at the right times.  Chris is the perfect daddy for Evie and Evie seems to be his perfect counterpart in so many areas.  Go Fosburgs!

this is Eve's favorite part! they fall down at the end.

That's awesome GO EVIE!! I love ballet wasn't ever able to participate myself but I can appreciate those who do and are good at it. I'm glad she has found something that she's good at and loves to do.
