Our first big news is that Ally finally began crawling around October. We were so excited. Well, it's one of those love/hate moments. I was excited because I love to see my kids progress and grow, but I was very un-excited because the next phase also meant Ally had joined the ranks of the "get into anything she can" section of childhood. She no longer stayed where I put her and though it was fun to have to go looking sometimes it was not fun at all to have to go looking!
Every couple of months we have stake conference. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's when lots of congregations get together in a specific area to receive instruction and inspiration from the local leaders. Anyway, for us it's in Florence and let me tell you, besides being an hour away early on a Sunday morning, Lizzy blessed our trip over there with a wonderful display: she lost her breakfast all over herself, the car seat, and the van's floor. It was lovely. So - even though we don't believe in patronizing stores on the Sabbath (keeping it holy), we stopped at a Wal-mart to get Liz some clean clothes, a clean car seat (it was cheap and we needed a new one anyway), and some serious cleaning stuff. It was quite an adventure. We actually made it to the conference, but had to sit in a side room. It was a really great thing for our kids who were able to move around and still be reverent without distracting anyone else. The room had the talks over the com. Just a few pix from the event.
little Lizzy being so good and colory (coloring)
Evie playing with a magnetic Noah's Ark set
Joe reading a gospel stories for kids book. He LOVES these!
Ally being her great self with a Jesus board book.
Chris got me in a moment when I actually got to listen!!
This last video is when we took Ally to the park. We often go to the park to get out some energy and practice getting along with other kids who are new. But this time is when we put Alexandra on the swing for the first time. She was so cute. You never know how a child is going to react to a new experience. Ally seems to truly enjoy all things a little bit crazy!
sooooooooo cute!
Finally, in our post of random family things, I love to take pix of my kids, as if that weren't obvious, and I couldn't help but notice how cute Ally was when she fell asleep. She sometimes does so much that when she finishes lunch she's ready for a nap before the bottle is even empty.
such a tired little one
And to finish this odd posting - I just wanted everyone to know that I had a great birthday. I turned 32 and though I'm not real into birthdays, I received phone calls and gifts from those who not only love me, but know me best. Since Joe's bday is right next to mine, I tend to focus on his day. I'm okay with it since I'm not a fan of being the center of attention and all. Thankfully, no cake this year! Not a fan of that either. I was blessed to know that my family and friends love me and recognized it was a special day.
See you next time!
