Family Day Weekend?!

Well, I know that our family seems pretty busy, but it's been a big priority of ours to make sure and do things together as a family.  With all the deploying and TDY's Chris does and then just the day to day that I do, playing together is sometimes the best thing we can do for our kids and ourselves.

We began our weekend by enjoying....ICE CREAM!!!

Can't tell she likes it can you?

He's such a cutie and he hated getting messy.  So silly!

Couldn't get her to pose, she like it that much!

She'll be a fan one day, I'm sure.  We Fosburgs all love ice cream.

On the other hand, sometimes family days just happen, like this one in early Sept.  We had a gift card for a place called Marble Slab Creamery.  It's an ice cream shop.  Had no idea one was even in town.  So Chris took us all out for ice cream.  It was lots of fun!

Oh, so cute....little sandy footprints next big sandy footprints.

Then we decided to make it a family weekend with our friends the Kirbys, Aaron, Tina, Spencer and Annie.  We all drove out to Huntington State Park on the coast.  Our first year we were here we went to Myrtle Beach with the Pressgroves who have since moved to Boston, MA and then on to Japan.

This time we went to an actual state park.  It was a lot more convenient with all the kids.  They had bathrooms and the beach was much easier to get to and navigate with a stroller.  Funny part was, we got there when the tide was definitely in.  You can tell by how close the dunes are to the wet sand.  We had to park our gear and the stroller right up against the dunes just to keep them from washing away.

Of course washing away ourselves ended up being more of a problem.  Our kids are all so little that we parents got quite a work out just keeping them from the riptide!  The Kirbys had a blast, I certainly enjoyed being with an actual girl friend, and all the kids were super tired and happy on the way home.  That's the way to spend a day!

once Liz found she could build in the sand without getting in trouble,
we had a hard time getting her to do anything else!

Little Ally got to be in the water too, but only for a moment.
Seriously, the waves were real scary for an unbalanced mom and a cute wiggly one like her!

Joe worked so hard on this.  He buried daddy first and then jumped right in for his turn,
but he didn't want to be buried, just sit.

See what I mean?  This was after about the second hour!

We so enjoyed the day and though the waves were a bit rough - got a video about that one - and the wind was pretty strong - all the videos have that - we had so much fun we didn't want to leave!  We took lots of little videos so I'm going to post a couple.  You don't need to watch them all.  It was just so funny to watch them that I put up several!

So we get home from the beach in Florida to go to the beach with our kids in South Carolina!  That's the mark of a true Fosburg.  We're all fish from birth!  Loves!
