Flag Football and the Splash Park

Joe has been learning all about football for his extracurricular activity.  He finished T-ball in the spring and then when daddy said he'd coach again, he started flag football.  This sport seems to be more his "thing".  He loves to get the ball and of course, he loves to run.  I think his favorite part of the whole game is grabbing at those flags on his friends.  Really, the flags seem to call to him and the ball tends to be a distant second to them.  Even when the kid doesn't have the ball, Joe will yank off the flag.  It makes him very good when the ball and the flags are on the same kid!

He is very disciplined in that as soon as he gets a flag he stops moving altogether.  He has to wait for the coaches to notice and blow the whistle.  Cracks me up because he is so darn proud!
Little turkey - V get off the field!
Daddy's coaching and you can just see Joe next to him with the ball.  The kid in the yellow is trying to get his flag!  (he didn't by the way - Joe got a touch down, but I missed that part!)
Joe is so silly.  Even without the ball he kept running fast!
waiting to get the next game started.  Patience is not a given quality for him -
he's working on it though.
Joe has another flag!  Go Joe!
yeah, this one was not a candid.  Joe totally saw me and then did a silly pose.

After the games, we sometimes go to the nearby splash park to cool off.  No matter the season it's hot when you play outside!  We had so much fun and the kids loved that they got to play in their clothes.  Who needs a swimsuit?!

Eve and Liz so enjoy the splash park

 run Joe and Al, run!
almost everyone is out there - way to go little Fosburgs!
daddy had to walk through with Vaughn - he wouldn't get wet

Lizzy and Joe love to play war with these sprayers - they're too far away for either to really "win", but it's great fun just the same.
Ally looking very wet and very thirsty.

We had a great time today!  Glad Joe decided to play.
